childrens-adventure-club

On normal safaris there is not much for children to do except game viewing or swimming in the pool. Now we are able to offer safaris which include a dedicated full time children’s educational and entertainment programme, the “Adventurers club”, ideal for children aged 4-12 years. The daily programmes are organised and led by carefully selected and trained local naturalists and the children get plenty of opportunity to interact with African children of their own age. A typical day out in Mara with a young Maasai naturalist might include a visit to a “manyatta” village to watch a dance and help the local boys separating young and old sheep. Learn to shoot a bow and arrow, make fire with sticks, make jewellery, play animal hide-and-seek, learn tracking and identify animals, birds, insects and butterflies.

ngorongoro-walk

Ngorongoro Walk Afternoon guided walk along the top of the crater wall. Enjoy spectacular views across the crater looking North and down into the Melanga depression looking South. Learn about the local plants, trees and culture.

golf-courses-in-kenya-06

This golf course is designed to international standards but maintains a the flavour of its exotic location. Windsors 18 hole course is challenging and unique. Several island greens provide an exercise in precision play. Approached an intimidating 14th hole over a cliff and water, measure your strength at Windsor's 5th, at 640 yards one of the longest holes in Africa. Hundreds of Sykes monkeys frolic around the course, which gives the Windsor Golf a real African flavour. Mount Kenya Safari Club 2184 metres -par 27 (9 holes) Although only nine holes, Mount Kenya Safari Club is an experience that the visitor must include in his or her itinerary. Nowhere in the world do you come face to face with one of nature's greatest anomalies, a snow-capped mountain lying on the equator! This exclusive country hotel offers a gorgeous manicured garden course which, despite being one composed entirely of par three pitch and putt holes, it is absolutely brutal. Accuracy is the key and water hazards are many together with the distraction of splendid it views of Mount Kenya and colourful flowers and birds surrounding every hole

fishing-rusinga

Rusinga Island A visit to Rusinga island on Lake Victoria can be an exciting and unusual interlude during your safari to Masai Mara, or a longer 2/3 day stay for keen fishermen. It is about an hour by light aircraft from Masai Mara to Rusinga for a morning of fishing for Nile Perch (some can weigh up to 100 pounds). Return to Mara in time for lunch or have lunch at Rusinga and spend the afternoon birdwatching and exploring the island, with its interesting Archeological site and tribal villages. Clients can also visit nearby Ruma game park, recently cleared of Tsetse fly and home to various animal species not seen elsewhere in Kenya.

chimp-tracking-uganda

Chimpanzee Trekking Chimpanzee tracking with guide. A relatively easy walk along the forest trail until the chimps can be heard chattering or shrieking. It may then be necessary to hike through the forest ground vegetation which can be quite thick at times until the chimps are spotted, probably high up in the trees. Spend a maximum of 1 hour with the chimps who may descend to eat figs, move around and cavort on the ground, often within a few meters of the visiting group. Afterwards, return to along the trail, where there is always a good chance of spotting the many other primate species inhabiting the park.

bush-walk

Bush walks There is no better way to experience real Africa than a walk in the bush! Guided by a Masai warrior and accompanied by an armed ranger, follow the trails across the African savanna and learn about animal tracks, how plants and trees are used for medicinal purposes and see the smaller animals that are not always spotted during game drives. The guide will explain how the local people live, either a nomadic lifestyle or as pastoralists and farmers. Some walks will also pass close to the larger plains game such as wildebeest, zebra and antelope.

bike-safari-mto-wa-mbu

Cycling safari. Start with a visit to Mto wa Mbu village market. Continue through the banana plantations to the shores of Lake Manyara, stopping to see local village life en route. After refreshments, drive back to the lodge. Mountain bikes, helmets and gloves included. 3.5 hrs.

hells-gate

Hell’s Gate Hell’s Gate National Park lies beside Lake Naivasha. Massive red tinged cliffs form a canyon-like landscape with spectacular volcanic rock formations dominated by Fischer's needle, a tall rock spire. From the entrance to the park "Hell's gate", follow the path down to the hot springs where volcanic steam vents and boiling water erupt from fissures in the rock. Notice typical volcanic geology such as pumice stone and Obsidian rock. Although it is a hot, dry environment, the park is home to a profusion of plains game and birdlife. Walking is permitted, making it ideal for hiking, biking, and rock climbing.

gorilla-tracking-uganda

Gorilla Trekking Early breakfast, meet the guide and depart at 0800 hrs for a full day trek into the forest to search for the Gorillas. The hiking may be long and somewhat strenuous at times while patience is the order of the day. However, the thrill of tracking down these shy but fascinating primates will be just reward (note that viewing is not guaranteed).
